Untitled (automaton No.1) Interactive 3D Animation, 2025

Key Skills: Art direction, Animation Design, Interactive Design,3D “Untitled (Automaton No.1)” is a hand-cranked interactive installation. It combines 3D animation with mechanical movement to explore how intergenerational trauma in East Asian families shapes childhood. When participants turn the crank, the curtain rises and a digital flower emerges and blooms, only to close again under the pressure of the mechanical ring. When the viewer stops cranking, the curtain descends and the scene shifts. The work has been exhibited at multiple venues and has received several awards.

I developed the entire project single-handedly, from initial concept to final realisation, including 3D modelling, 3D animation, interaction coding, building the physical interactive mechanism, 3D printing, and drafting the technical drawings for the wooden cabinet.
