These characters were specially designed for the Newchang Drama Culture Festival held on Nan Street in Xinchang County, Shaoxing. I drew inspiration from Nan Street’s long-standing reputation as a historic food street and from iconic characters in the region’s traditional dramas, skillfully blending them to create character designs with a fresh, youthful, and trendy appeal.
